I just got a tattoo and was wondering if after the healing process the color is going to fade to that greenish/blue color...I've noticed on alot of ppl that the black always seems to end up looking less black and more on the greenish/blue side...why is that?

I have 2 tattoos which are black and Ive had them years (6) and they're still black. You don't mean the tattoos you see on older men and women do you because they look like a bluey green but I think that's just the way they were done back in the day, so don't worry!

It's a cheap grade of black ink. India ink...the ink from burnt toilet paper will give it a greenish/blue look. The ink wouldn't be watered down cause that then would have a grayish color to it depending how much it was watered down. The greenish/blue look is mostly from a homemade or prison tattoo and it does not come from a professional.

i agree fully with Shell....

I have 17 tattoos, and over 1/2 of them are black. I haven't had any problems with them turning any different colors.

Here, i'll even check!......................... YEP! they're all still as black as can be! :)

the fading part... that does tend to happen. try to keep your tattoo out of the sun. i have a pretty big tattoo that i got about 5 or 6 years ago, and it's just now starting to fade. but the only reason i'm sure of is because i was in the sun quite a lot that summer.

also, you can always get everything touched up if it does fade! :)

good luck to you! make sure to keep lotion (fragrence free!) lotion on it!

Tattoos do fade, so buy tattoo goo to heal it up real nice, it is a salve. Also after it has healed you are going to want to keep it lotioned nicely, especially in the winter with the dry air. doing this will help keep you color from fading. Keep in mind though that you can always have them touched up and usually the tattoo artist does them for free. just to keep their work looking great. remember to go to the same artist though.

by making use of this time you would be able to desire to contemplate a white unscented alcohol unfastened lotion and initiate making use of that some situations an afternoon. See if that works extra useful for you so a strategies as protecting the scab no so no longer ordinary and dried out it relatively is the completed shrinking ingredient. i could say you need to anticipate scabbing on a foot tattoo.

It depends on how much sun they get. If you want to keep it black, keep it covered up or put sunscreen on it whenever it'll be exposed. This will slow down the blue-ing process a lot. :)
