I know this is controversial, but bear with me! I don't want opinions, I know everyone has them about ear cropping. But for someone who DOES approve... do you know of anyone in Arizona (Phoenix) Who does them?

The reason I'm not using the phone book, is there are SOOOOO many vets in phoenix. Where to start?

My Dane is 8 weeks old. He'll be coming home next Sunday, Christmas Eve. (The Christmas thing was a coinsidence- we wanted a pup MONTHS ago). He's in the proper age bracket-we have until he's 12 weeks.

Again-I don't want OPINIONS, just recommendations. Thanks! :)

The best thing to do is check with several breeders in the area. Usually go with a vet that does "show crops". for boxers, dobermans... and other dogs used for showing, they are usually longer and better sculptured than standard crops.

I hope this helps!

Just wondering how old your dog is?? Ear cropping needs to be done at a very young age or else it is not usually successful, and you will submit your dog to alot of pain for no reason. I am not for or against ear cropping, but if you are going to do it, please make sure it is done by a professional, and like I said, you need to have it done while they are still just a young pup.

Most vets will do them, provided the dog is in the right age range- after a certain age the blood vessels and nerves are too well developed, and they won't do it anymore. Make sure you read up on how to train the dogs ears too, they won't just stand up on their own once they're cropped, you have to help them along.

Check with your local vets office.

Unless you are planning on showing your dog and this is a requirement then why are you planning on putting your dog through that much pain? Talk about cruel punishment!
