No, it isn't worth it and anyway, you can't just become anorexic. Regular exercise and a good healthy diet are essential to loose weight healthily. Try a detox diet like Jane Scrivner's, I lost weight when I wasn't even intending to and it helped me realise what was good for me and what wasn't

You have got to be kidding me. NO, NO, NO and yeah, NO! If you are seriously considering becoming anorexic you are either insane or incredibly lazy. First of all, you may start out only wanting to loose a couple of pounds and then next thing you know you are in a coma suffering from ketosis from lack of glucose and the buildup of ketone bodies.
You want my advice, get off your butt and work out. It is so simple. DIET and EXERCISE. Diet does not mean not eating anything. It means being reasonable. Eat 5 small, healthy meals a day and hit the gym 6 days a week for an hour. Assuming you are female, concentrate on cardio and light weight training.
By the way, your question has really pissed me off. Do not be (for lack of a better word) a dumbass.

You don't have to become anorexic to lose weight. Just simply start exercising a bit and cut back and unhealthy food, like sugars and fats--especially trands fats. Cutting out soft drinks will help a bunch: 12 tablespoons of sugar in a 12 oz. cola! But you are under-estimating how severe a disease anorexia is. It's actually a mental disorder, where one has a distorted perception of their body. So you can't say "you're on the verge of an eating disorder." You just don't decide to become anorexic; it's like saying you've decided to become BiPolar. Bottom line: just eat less and exercise more.

No - in my opinion nothing is worth becoming anorexic for! Try getting involved in other interests - music, dance, movies, fan clubs or whatever your interests are. Take the focus away from weight and just be aware of food intake and excercise -without becoming excessive. Seek advice from qualified persons and not comments from the net. Look afteryourself and good luck

No! Once you start being anorexic you will have a hard time getting out of the trend of not eating. Plus you will eventual get so skinny that you won't be strong enough to do anythings like hobbies or sports that involve excercise. Just do the normal way of eating healthy and excercising. You will also improve at sports and be overall healthier. Now that's the way to go!

You make NO mention of your height or weight, but I CAN tell you one thing right off the bat...NOTHING is worth being anorexic or bulimic over.
God made you who you are and there IS happiness once you quit trying to please OTHER PEOPLE and be HAPPY with yourself.
It took me almost a whole lifetime to get to this point and I would LOVE to SPARE you all of that turmoil.
I used to be VERY thin...but until I became what my BODY was happy with, I was NOT happy. Now, everywhere I go, all the people I meet...EVEN CUTE& YOUNGER guys talk to me and are nice. Hang in there! Be HAPPY with yourself!!!
PS: I'm 50; fat & in a wheelchair! You wouldn't BELIEVE the CUTIES that FLIRT with me!!! :^)

NO WAY!! have you seen a picture of anorexics and how disgusting they look?! ITS AWFUL!!! hey, better to be a little overweight than about 30 lbs, under...EWWWW!!! I would say if you're self concious then just eat healthier and exercise. not only will that make you lose weight, it will improve how you feel, look, and live. If people make fun of you, that's THEIR problem. If they're rude enough to make fun of you, just know that they're just insecure, immature and just plain jerks. IGNORE THEM, EAT WELL, AND LOVE LIFE!!! GOOD LUCK!! =)

You can't "become" anorexic, you either are or you aren't. It's a psychological disorder.
You can choose to have poor eating habits or try dangerous fads and supplements though. But that's not anorexia.

Noooooooooooooooooooooooo way. Do NOT do that! You are too important to the world and everyone that cares about you to do something as stupid as that to yourself.
Take my advice: go to a doctor and ask him if there's a special diet that you can go on. It'll be like a low carb, low fat diet, like LA Weight Loss, or Jenny Craig or something like that, or it'll just be a watch-what-you-eat diet. PLEASE do not develop an eating disorder to lose weight. It seems like the easiest way, but it's the worst way to lost weight. There are so many horrible consequences, and everyone that knew you would be heartbroken if anything happened to you. PLEASE take my advice and e-mail me about what happens!! Best of luck!
