I am hoping this is not a silly question either. But I see your point.
Maybe we all could benefit something out of this and start asking that :
Why can't Nazis and Jews get along?
Why can't the warring factions in Africa get along?
Why can't Tamil tigers and Singhalese get along?
Why can't Serbs and Croats and Bosnians get along? They all speak the same language.
Why can't Pakistan and India get along? They are from the same race. They speak similar languages.
Why can't White supremacists and Afro-Americans get along? they are all Americans.
Why can't Whites, Blacks and Koreans get along as with the Rodney King case?
Why can't the IRA and Britain get along? They are all Anglo-saxons.
I will not go further in history to tell you that just because the media has whipped out something about religious conflict we have to swallow it lock, stock and barrel that anything that has a mention of certain holy scripture or freaking jihad will spark terror and tension.
FYI The biggest conflict the world witnessed in the 90s after the Cold War is the warring political factions of the many African nations. The world media does not report these as much as the troubles in 'Holy Land' simply because nobody cares about Africa. As long as the West can benefit by supplying Kalashnikovs to these warring people all is ok with the world.

Most of the Muslims, Christians, and Jews in the world do get along.
Especially in countries which guarantee freedom of religion.
In the Vatican II document, Declaration on Religious Freedom, Dignitatis Humanae (Human Dignity), the Church states:
The human person has a right to religious freedom. This freedom means that all men are to be immune from coercion on the part of individuals or of social groups and of any human power, in such wise that no one is to be forced to act in a manner contrary to his own beliefs, whether privately or publicly, whether alone or in association with others, within due limits.

One problem is the radical Muslims. The believe that in order for their savior the 12th Iman to come and save the world they must regain all the land they ever controlled also called the waqf. This is why they are always fighting with the Jews for control of Israel.

we don't think interior an analogous God. maximum (yet no longer all) Christians have faith interior the Triune God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Jews and Muslims do no longer. to respond to your question however, that's because of the fact of lack of awareness and hatred born of lack of awareness.

Its all about fear of something different. Often people may feel afraid of something they're not used to, and view it as wrong. I pray that since there are so many different religions, and faiths, all of us are headed to a better place when we die.
