Does anyone who works for/in the DEA feel just a bit of twinge when you see all the major phar-corp's who have become the biggest drug pushers/dealers of the 21st century....of course it's all LEGAL...

In this country, state sanctioned prejudice, hatred, and segregation was "enforced"right up to 1965, just as slavery once was. Because the law states something is legal or illegal does not make a precedent for what is right or wrong. If you would have told people 50 years ago abortion would be a common form of birth control, and as a 'right' is also enforced by the law, however immoral or stupid.

The war on drugs? The war on alcoholism? The war on addiction...when you stop the human being in it's tracks, and redesign it from the ground up, you might have a chance.

At present, anyone who looks away at one criminal(who buys credibility with TV ad's, and big $$$ lobbyist's), and target's the other is a crock at best.

But what of these entities such as the ATF...prohibition?

Nor do I work for the DEA or ATF. I would differ from what appears to be your opinion regarding the enforcement of drug laws (or any law for that matter). Laws, or most of them, are usually based on what the majority of the citizens moral characters beliefs. Therefore, I would say that if the majority of the citizens feel a certain action to be immoral and the law is a result of that majority vote then enforcement of that law is justified. As to the pharmacy companies, I really don't know what you are talking about and can only feel as though you are talking about how some of them are telling their reps to inform doctors that certain drugs can help treat certain ailments even though that drug has not been certified by the FDA as such. If that is indeed happening then there are several people at fault: the pharmacy corp, the drug rep, and the doctor who doesn't research the claim. I for one am glad there are companies who manufacture drugs to combat diseases etc. If you are dealing and/or growing or using then stop if it's illegal, at least until you get the law changed.

I wasn't going to answer, then Roch Cop made me laugh.

I don't work for the DEA or ATF, but I am glad that they are there to enforce the law.
The only person responsible for the war on addiction, is the individual faced with the choice of using drugs or living a drug-free existence. Until people take responsibility for their own lives and actions, nothing the government does or does not do will stop the illegal use, manufacture or distribution of drugs and/or alcohol. The only thing the government can do at that point, is enforce the law.
