I am going to get a vertical hood piercing next Tuesday. I was wondering what I needed to look for in a piercer. What sort of things to look out for and to ask of him/her. He did say that he was an apprentice for almost two years and has been piercing on his own for about 8 years. He states that he uses surgical steel for the piercing as it is more sterile. Does this sound right? Also, do you know of or have heard of potential problems that are associated with hood piercings? I am looking more for things that are not rare as I know anything is possible. For those who have had one, what sort of problems did you have and are you now more sensitive? Now I am talking about a hood piercing and NOT a clitoris piercing. They are two totally different things. Thank you :)

The piercing itself hurts very bad but the pain only lasts for literally seconds. I have had mine for 10 months and I am less sensitive than I used to be; it is harder for me to climax now. I have considered taking it out because of that but I like having it there. You can ask the piercer to watch him sterilize the equipment.

It will desensitize the hood after time and you will find it harder to climax from oral stimulation because it damages the nerve endings but it's not permanent.

Remove the piercing and the nerves will heal. I used to date a body piercer and she had hers done but took it out because she could no longer have orgasms from cunnilingus. My ex-wife had hers done and took them out promptly. I'd say go for a large gauge if you really want to something weighted to make the hood stretch more.

All the stuff you've heard about them enhancing your sex life is wrong go for a labia piercing as the nerves in the vaginal cavity are all along the walls of the vagina.
