The obvious answer to that question is yes, they do live longer on average. However, you cannot predict that someone will live to be 100 simply because they eat alot of fruit, there are too many other factors. However, a diet high in antioxidants (found in fruits, vegys. and berries) is proven to prevent illness. Also healthy eating will prevent obesity and high cholesterol, which are profound risk factors in heart disease as well other illnesses.

The answer seems to be that people who eat a healthful diet do indeed live longer than those who do not, because the Standard Western Diet is too full of omega-6 fatty acids, which promote your body's production of inflammatory prostaglandins--they irritate your tissues and make them more susceptible to damage by cancers and lipids (cholesterol and such). It's too full of fat and sugar, which cause us to gain weight, and the heavier we are, the sicker we are.

So "healthily" means low-fat and less of it. The less we weigh, the better our lipid levels, energy levels, and inflammation levels are.

Vegetarians can eat too much and eat too much fat, so simply being vegetarian isn't the answer. We have to eat the right foods in the right amounts.

This does not mean that we must eat a "boring" diet, either. There are so many choices in a vegetarian diet that if you're bored by what you eat,

1. It's your fault, and
2. It's very easy to change and eat lots of other vegetables in different combinations with different spices.

It becomes more interesting and healthy besides.

But the short answer to your question is, "Yes."

The question is too general. What if the person smokes (actively or passively) and/or drinks a lot? What if they have stressful or dangerous jobs? What if ...? What if ...?

Eating healthily will definitely increase energy levels and probably help the condition of the skin and hair. But there is no guarantee or proof that it will lengthen someone's life. Sorry.

some do,some dont-after all, accidents happen!and, sometimes, ones genetic heritage is so fraught with illness, that u cant prevent trouble.on average however, someone who pays attention and doesnt live on processed, fried crap all there lives, has less of a chance of developing obesity, cancer, heart disease, etc.it isnt a guarentee, but it can help even ur odds.for example,if heart disease runs in ur family,u would be wise to eat reasonably andwatch ur weight.u might still develop heart problems, but maybe not till ur older, maybe more manageable and not as severe as someone who lives on artery-clogging junk.

Yeah! Definitly! By eating healthy, your body is able to regenerate the wear outs life throws at you. If you eat healthy, your immune system will be much stronger and therefore you will get sick less. Less chess you'll get that "killer" illness.

Eating healthy = much much longer life span.

Living long is mainly a genetic thing, but yes, if you eat healthy you can live longer.

It depends you could eat more than your portion of healthy food and not work then you wouldn't live longer but, if you eat your portion of healthy food and workout you could live longer.

I'm sure it helps but I don't think it's the only factor. My great grandma lived to be 111 and she fried everything in pig lard.

Naaah - my grandmother lived on clotted cream, strawberries and toffees honestly.
She died at 90 years old last year. Or was it luck.
