Let me answer your question by asking one.... Are you a vegetarian, and if not, why? Do you like skydiving, or mountain climbing? If not, why not? Do you want to be able to play a musical instrument,? If not, how come?
Be verrrrry verrrrry grateful that you live in a country that gives you the right to like what you like, believe what you believe, and think whatever it is you think. You do not owe other people any explanation for being who you are, and believing the way you believe, and nobody else owes YOU an explanation for how they are. We are ALL individuals, and we are all different. We aren't just all one big ant colony. Again, be glad that you live in a country that acknowledges this and allows you the right to BE whoever you are.
Many people believe in the existence of a Mysterious Invisible Superbeing who rules everything. Others don't. Most of the time people grow up believing what they were taught to believe as children. We do not all grow up the same way, and we don't get taught the same things. And then again a lot of us actually have minds of our own, and we make our own decision about what we want to believe or not.
Peace out.

I am agnostic, and its not because I find God uninteresting. Its actually quite the opposite. I have a deep interest, not only in the Christian faith, but in how Christianity affects other religions that evolved in the Middle east.
The reason why I chose to be agnostic is not because I don't have faith in God, its because I don't have faith in how people have interpreted the word of God. Over the past 2000+ years, the Bible has been rewritten and reinterpreted, so many times for so many personal agendas, that it can be naturally assumed that no version of the modern Bible is historically accurate. Plus, I see too many churches and church leaders being hypocritical and judgemental, which I believe is in direct opposition to the teachings of Jesus.
Also, many of the scientific discoveries we have made recently, directly contradict the things that are mentioned in the Bible. I prefer to believe that a little of both is true, that God set things in motion, but the reasons how and why are meant to be a mystery and that most Christians tend to overplay the reasons given to us by the Bible. We have to remember that the Bible was written and edited by mortal man over the course of 2000 years and its entirely possible that many of its explanations could be dead wrong. I prefer to believe that if you follow society's most basic rules and try to live a peaceful life, you will be okay, regardless of the faith you chose to believe in.

I believe in God, but not Christianity (I am Deist). I find nothing that suggest that Christianity is the true religion. The existence of the Bible does not make Christianity is true because nearly every religion has a holy text. I do not believe that God communicates with this world, he has no need to; and even if he did, he could communicate directly with everyone, not to a select few.

I was raised Christian, but never felt comfortable with the teachings although I do believe in the teachings of Jesus Christ. I simply believe the Christians didn't understand the message Jesus brought to mankind.

I don't think the Bible portrays God as a loving God, rather an angry, jealous, vengeful God. I investigated other teachings and found one that answers all of my questions and feeds me spiritually.

I am what you would call an Atheistic person, I am in no particular religion.
I was raised as an catholic, but didn't like it.
Before, I used to have Zoroastrian Faith.
It is not that I don't find God uninteresting, its just that that's what I believe in as a Radical Maverick person.
Did I mention My 13and 17 yrs old brothers are too?
By the way, I'm 12.

It's not that I find God uninteresting. Its that I find thorough holes in the Christian religion that I don't find in science. I also have never met a KIND religious person in my entire life save for my grandmother and my soon-to-be mother in law (I'm not saying they're not out there, I just haven't met any). I don't surround myself with hypocrites. The idea behind the Christian religion is to live like Christ did, and I do personally. I just don't do it to reap any spiritual rewards, I do it to be a good person. It's complicated. I hope this helps a little.

Itmatters very little .One must be a human being, sincere, loving and doing a bit for the under privileged to make this earth beautiful!

god is uninteresting because there are many questions unanswered. For example: the meaning of suffering, many people who go insane.. children born with disabilities..people live in poverty..terrible diseases.. war..holocousts.. brutality of man against women.. sunami... and so on.. why did he allow all these? He seems to be not all powrful!!!!

i have something to say, and not to the person asking this question. there is proof that there is a God, and it issss the bible, sure, to you it may just be a book, but think about it. a lot of the books of the bible are from a really long time ago. and all of the profysees (yes that is spelled wrong) have come true so far, how can that be "just a coincidence"?

2006-12-18 10:48:31 · answer #10 · answered by ashley denise 1 · 0 0

No, I am not. I believe in God. I do not believe that Jesus was the son of God. I dislike the bible intensely. I think there are many paths to God. He does not care which path you take, or if you take no path at all. Most souls cross over. Any religion that claims to be the only way to God is a lie.

Does that answer your question?
