I just bought a puppy. The lady told me pomeranian. but i knew it wasn't no pomeranian. so when i asked around people said its a chihuahua/rat terrier. but how small can they stay when the mature to adult. because some pictures i've seen the dogs are big. other pics the dogs are really small.

anyone got any advice?

Yes my puppy is really small. Big enough to fit in one arm. I took her to the mall and people say by the looks of her feet she is going to be a small one. But I want to be for sure.

Mixed breed dogs come in many sizes- they have no breed standard. Individual puppies in a litter can even be different sizes at adult age.

Rat terriers can be as large as 40 pounds, or as small as 2 pounds. They're more of a type than a breed at the moment, though some owners are getting breed groups together... But that's another story.

Chihuahuas can also be as small as 2 to 4 pounds, but I think they can be up to 8.

I think you have a tiny dog on your hands. :)

I have twin rat terriers- I was old they were chihuahuas, they looked just like a Chihuahuas, they weighed 1 pound first vet visit.
that was 1 year ago-
NOW the female weighs 28 pounds! and the male about 20 pounds.

they do not look chihuahua anymore.
and they are VERY hyper!
so be prepared.

call paris or brittney. Serioursly, in case you like a domestic dog, i think of it particularly is weird and wonderful to decide on a breed. in simple terms circulate go searching. Rat/Cha?? it relatively is getting out of hand. i think of i want a sheppoo. it relatively is all stupid.
