That depends on how bad the bone is broken. Is it coming out of the skin, I dont mean to be a smartass, but you need to take it to the vet to have him place it back in the right spot and put a cast on it. If it is not through the skin, you probably can just try to keep the dog calm. Either way, you need to have a professional reset the bone. If not, it will not heal correctly.

The only treatment for a broken bone is to get it set properly so it can heal. Healing can take weeks....

What would you do if you broke your own leg? Would you try to set the bone yourself, or would you find an emergency room?

If you care about this dog at all, find an emergency vet, even if you have to drive a bit to get there.

many areas have vet 24 hr. 7 days emergency services
check your local phone directory or some vets have answering machines that give you a phone # to one of these facilities
you could also try calling a local aspca or animal shelter as they might have a place you could bring him
try to keep him as still as possible and do not allow him to try and stand
but get help asap
the dog is in pain and delay in treatment could cause further permanent damage

The dog needs to be seen by a vet immediately. If they're all closed in your area, call them anyway. A lot of them will have emergency or 'after hours' numbers.

Don't give the dog any 'human' medicines. A Tylenol or two can kill a pet.

Gun Treatment. Fast, Cheap, a little noisy, and do it outside, its easier to clean up.

There are too many dogs, that why we cut off their nuts, not because we need more. Go get a new one after.

Spending a lot of money on a dog while people starve is EVIL. Why dont u animal lovers think of that for once, instead of getting the best dog chow and buying them sweaters maybe you can help human beings who are starving, like adopt a child.

try to find the closest vet that is open, because as said before, you would want someone to drive you to a hospital somewhere, even far away, if you were hurt.if you truely love the dog, you will spend a little extra money to get him to a vet, even if you have to drive a few extra miles.
