Get an animal cast or animal medication at your local Walgreens/CVS........then you have to take it to the vet.

i recognize this is going to sound ridiculous, in spite of the undeniable fact that it truly is technically no longer an emergency. If the leg is kept solid (an ace bandage received't do so), there isn't any longer an open fracture, and the dogs isn't in soreness, it truly is a few thing that would actual wait some days. That being stated, *MY* dogs breaking a leg is an emergency. *My* dogs does no longer be sitting abode with a damaged leg, no count what a vet or receptionist informed me. this isn't an insult on you by technique of any skill, yet rather a level that shows the disparity between what a vet/receptionist says and what i believe. Your dogs has many secondary well being topics that may make this even more beneficial urgent. Diabetics are at severe danger of infections and blood bypass topics, and a damaged leg ought to particular reason both of those. If I were on your issue, i'd call decrease back and ask to speak with somebody else, like the vet himself or a vet tech. in the adventure that they experience it truly is a few thing that desires to be addressed today, they're going to both artwork you in or will deliver you to an emergency vet.

I am not a vet so I cannot advise you properly, the only thing that comes to mind since all the vet clinics in your town are closed, is for you to go to the nearest vet school to study and learn of the treatment required to help your dog..

He needs to have the leg set properly. You should get him emergency treatment (via the PDSA or RSPCA if you're in the UK). You could try splinting the leg until tomorrow at a push. Use a piece of wood of appropriate size, wrapped with soft cloths to prevent damage to the skin. Then wrap round firmly but not too tight with a bandage.
PS I dont need attention, I have loads of it already thank you, and this should have been put in the PET section;

There are 24/7 vets in the phone book, treating a dog that might have a broken leg needs to be seen asap bc he could get an infection. they will take x-rays, give you some antiinflammatory/bacteria eliminating meds, and ask you to keep it wrapped up.

you know the bone has to be reset if it broken . Now how in hell are you planning to reset it. Take the damned dog to the vet in the am and get it taken care of before i call SPCA on you. I do not need any attention but i think you do .

there r no treatments unless u know how to set a broken bone. i am sure there r vets that have emergency services but at the very least, b there when the doors open in the morning. whatever u do don't let him outside by himself.
good luck

Some local hospitals might help, also the aspca or anti cruelty people might help. If thats no good.. The only thing that you can do until you get medical attn is keep the dog comfotable and not moving.. If you can give the dog some pain killer

you can try to splint it. Get some ace bandages and a stick of some sort and put the stick next to the leg and wrap the bandage around it. You will probably have to put some tape or something ovet it also. Your dog will most likely try to pull it off of his leg.
Just a guess,hope he fells better soon

Um, there should be an emergency animal hospital in your area, check the phone book or internet. In the meantime, try to keep your dog from moving around too much.

put his leg in a splint...
or something...
jsyk a splint is like two peices of wood wrapped around the leg with cloth.
try not to move the wound until medical attn. is around.
at least if dogs are treated like humans.
it does seem logical though.
