If some one was really really drunk and visited you, how would you tell?

What if they apologised for their behaviour at a later date claiming they were so drunk that they could not remeber visiting?

And at the time they did not smell of booze. They did not act strange. They were talking properly - no slurring - in fact quite lucid! In other words they were not acting any different to any other time they had met you!
What would you think?

I wouldn't be able to tell if they could really act that way but my dog would know immediately! She can smell booze a mile away even straight vodka, and HATES IT!!
If I couldn't remember visiting someone it would be because I was drunk (obvious as I couldn't act sober) or I have been on medications which have made me forget doing something but am told my behaviour was normal. A drug doesn't have to be illegal! I dont forget things if I smoke cannabis but others might I suppose! I could blame my age or the menopause and be believed.
I could also pretend I'd forgotten just to wind you up a bit, just to see what answers you'd come up with yourself! But I have a warped sense of humour!!

I think it is absolutely possible. I have been drunk several times but I have the ability to compose myself and act normal. Probably more likely in people who build up tolerances to alcohol.

Your friend is either on drugs or lying through their teeth. They must be trying to hide something. Or maybe they are ashamed of something they said or did while visiting. Either way I don't think I'd worry about it unless it's an ongoing problem. If it's a one time thing ignore it and move on.

You can normally tell when someone is drunk (especially if you know them well). Sounds like they were faking.

Invite them round again and this time ask them if they have been drinking.
