Cancer is rated based on the size of the tumors

Stage I if the tumor is under 2 cm and not spread to lymph nodes
Stage II if the tumor is larger than 2 cm and or has spread to lymph nodes
Stage II if the cancer has spread to other organs
Stage IV if the cancer has spread to organs and bone - usually fatal but not always. Lance Armstrong had Stage IV cancer and is now cancer free.

what... ohh, I think I know what you mean. Well, I think all cancers are rated the same, 1-4, one being early-stage, high probably of survival, etc and 4 is terminal cancer, no chance of survival.
