It depends on what your desire is as far as occupatinal experience. I spent time in the Air Force and my sister spent time in the Navy, so I feel I can do a fair comparison. Both branches of the service offer some advanced technical training, however the Air Force has a lot more variety when it comes to choice of occupation. There are only a few folks that actually fly the aircraft, so the rest is a wide open sea of choices. Plus the pay is generally better in the Air Force, as well as the living quarters and mess halls are better. My sister used to go to the AFB to eat all the time when she was stationed in Washington DC because she said the food was way better than on the Navy Base.

NAVY! I loved the Navy. I was in for 4 years and never was deployed. I tried to get stationed on a ship for the expereience, but never had the opportunity. I cannot compare to other branches, but I was treated great. Most of the time I had my own room and we were fed great. I loved the food and I engoyed a nice lifestyle. As for the jobs, there are many specialties within a particular rate. A corpsman, for instance, could have went into nucleur medicine, x-ray, physical therapy, microbiology, etc. The Navy was the best 4 years I could have spent and I would do it all over again. I beg to differ with Eire. My husband is active duty Air Force and I've had friends in the Navy......Air Force uniforms are much better! :)

Now, to answer your question. Depends on what you want to do once you join. My husband really wanted to join the Navy but, decided on the Air Force because of the Navy's long deployments at sea for up to 9 months. We've got kids (4 of them) and a marriage to think about, being gone for 9 months at a time is really hard on those relationships. Of course, these days the AF deploys for just as long some times.........

If you're interested in sea duty, ie. spending six months out to sea then join the Navy. If you want an equally skilled job but live like a normal person most of the time then join the Air Force.

You might also want to consider which has a base closer to you home as if there is a family emergency both will try to station you as close to home as they can.

Depends on if you want to be a sailor or an airman. No really, both have jobs available to everyone and all types of jobs. Every branch of the service has their own everything, such as doctors, dentists, and the list goes on and on. Talk to each specific branch and see which appeals to you more.

Either is a good choice. Kind of depends on what you want to do. Both branches have all kinds of jobs available. Air Force boot camp is a gimme...Navy is a tad bit harder.

Personally, it was a question I had to ask myself. What it comes down to is what kind of lifestyle to you want to lead. Do you like the idea of being out on a ship for 6 months? Do you even like the ocean? I ended up joining the Army because I wanted to be in "the s*@$" so to speak and not pushing buttons from a ship or a plane.

If you have no issue with motion sickness (boats !) , or regular long deployments away from land (out to sea), then it is about 6 of one 1/2 doz of the other.
The schools are comparable, but I had an aversion to being out on the ocean for long periods but some like it.
(also, the guy to girl ratio on board is still way off , so expect some insanity behind that !)

All i comprehend is the army's extra risky yet you gotta practice harder for the Air tension (in case you prefer to function planes). what's incorrect with the familiar military? My dad traveled from Germany to Korea and Vietnam bases and now he's addicted to oden noodles. He replaced into between the accountants yet nonetheless had to stroll twenty miles with packs and on occasion stay interior the barren region (as practise). So do no longer seem for criminal expert jobs interior the army. people regularly think of they're biased and Republican, and that's cool, yet they do no longer take them heavily (like each and each of the Democrats in Congress).
