If people would quit listening to "theologians" telling them what to believe, and stick to what the bible actually says, they'd do just fine. Kinda like the whole Left Behind series, which I admit, was a good read, but its all based on a couple of theologians who believe in a pre-tribulation rapture, which is simply not biblical. The bible never tells us we won't suffer thru the tribulation, actually, what it tells us is that we will suffer, greatly, even getting our heads lopped off. Christ will come for us, but not until right before the final wrath, which is after the tribulation. He does not come back for us twice, once before the trib and then again after, the bible never says that. People want to believe it, and I'm guessing some of that comes from Jesus telling his disciples He'll be with them till the end, but people take it as meaning He'll protect them from the trib. Considering how terribly most of His disciples suffered when they were murdered, it obviously didn't mean He would protect them from suffering, just what He said, He'd be with them, as He'll be with us. That's different that whisking us all away. Most biblcal prophecy tells us what to expect, and even when to expect it. For example, for centuries people have been expecting the tribulation to hit, only to live on as usual. The bible tells us quite specifically that certain things have to happen first. 1) Israel has to become a nation again (didn't happen until 1948), and the trib is to start during that generation, and a biblcal generation is 70 years, giving us until 2018 for it to start. 2) All twelve tribes have to return to Israel, there's still a couple unaccounted for. 3) The temple has to be rebuilt, which doesn't look like its gonna happen real soon considering the dome of the rock is there right now, not to mention we'd have to have the antichrist show up first, which obviously has not yet happened. All those people waiting for the trib in prior generations were not reading the bible, they were listening to "theologians", who were teaching their own misguided understanding of it.
Read the bible for yourselves, don't blindly follow other's interpretations, because no matter how smart you may think they are, everyone puts into prophecy a little of what they want it to be, instead of what it actually says.

Good question. Many may have lost faith (completely or temporarily) because they do not understand that Biblical prophecies are often tied one to the other. One prophet may receive one piece and another prophet the other piece. If you try to "predict" history by only looking at one piece, you'll be disappointed.
Case in point: during WWI and WWII, many folks thought the Rapture was imminent, based on the Olivet Discourse (Matt. 25, Luke 21 and Mark 13). However, they overlooked Jesus' clue that there was more to this prophecy than what He was saying: He told them the parable of the fig tree. Listeners in His time understood full well that the fig tree has long been a symbol of Israel. Prophesies such as Ezekiel 36 and 37 tell us Israel will be "resurrected" both physically (in terms of the resurrection of a seemingly dead nation) and spiritually in the end times. Had folks during WWI and WWII taken this into account, they would have realized the end was not near.......
The next prophesies we will see fulfilled are Ezekiel 38 and 39, when Russia, Iran and other Muslim nations invade Israel. At least 3 1/2 years later, the Tribulation will begin. Presumably, the Rapture will occur prior to the Ezekiel 38/39 invasion, but we do not know the day or the hour when it will occur.
Peace.

He was a false prophet and a false messiah. The Messiah must be from the House of David, which he wasn't. His followers made a faint attempt to rectify this by inventing the Massacre of the Innocents so that his mother would have to flee conveniently through the territory of Judah, but that does not qualify him for the job. Many of the prophesies were edited to suit him. We are warned about false prophets. Whatever miracles they perform etc, if they stray from the Law, they are not true prophets, but heretics, as he was.

The Bible is not a book to confuse people, it's our guide of biblical hisotry and a promise of a life and future blessed by GOD who wish to follow his word.
I see many GOD loving people on this site and I also see fearful people living in darkness, it takes strong moral courage to look beyond ridicule and insults from people who know not GOd.
Il's I can say for the ones who deny GOD don't ask him to remember you when his wrath comes upon the earth.
However I will pray that your heart and mind see the light of GOD

That happens often when the professed christian sets dates to the prophecy. There is to be no date setting. Christs return is imminent. There is no prophecy that must be fulfilled until His coming, so anyone who says, "this" must happen or go "there" is full of beans.

Study the Bible-- but do not look at it like a Crystal Ball.
Prophets tell of the PROPHETIC WORD.
That is, THE BIBLE!

Why would you bother, most prophesies are so vague, they could mean almost anything and be for any time.

Of course we can study them! They make us question, and that is healthy.
