Here we go again. Another bigoted Catholic priest basher.
Why do you keep throwing mud at Catholic priests when most priests are holy men who live their vows and are dedicated to the service of the Church? Why do you blame the priests for most of the abuse when the majority of the abusers are family members or teachers or people the child knows?
Have you forgotten the bravery of Peter Damien who became a leper in Hawaii after doing what most people of his day were afraid to do, to help those forgotten by society. Or perhaps a look at the life of Isaac Jogues who suffered terribly at the hands of the Iroquois and was willing to go back to them to minister to them. We have many priests today who live among the poorest of the poor in third world countries and also live in the richest countries of the world, helping the rich help the poor.
There are many forms of abuse. Ignorance is one of them. I advise you to stop abusing yourself and get the facts right before you use a public forum to degrade a group of dedicated priests to whom we owe a lot of gratitude.

Henry the 8th (son of Henry Tudor) was orginally a catholic in fact a bit of scholar and for many years was married to the spanish Catherine of Aragon. They has one daughter the future catholic Mary Tudor. However there were no male children and in those days it was very important to have a heir (Henry the 7th came to the throne ending the war of the roses which were all about the succession). Henry at first tried to get an annulment from the Pope so he could marry Anne Boleyn his mistress (see the movie - Anne of a thousand days), but the pope refused him. Upon refusal Henry changed to protestantism so he could take over the church in England - hence the Anglican church or church of England we have now. He then forced the churchmen in England to agree to the annulment. (Sir Thomas More and Bishop Fischer refusing to do so - they were executed - see the play a man for all seasons) Unfortunately for Anne she produced only a daughter (the future protestant Queen Elizabeth the first) and so she was beheaded on false charges of witchcraft and incest. Eventually Henry had a son by Jane Seymour - the protestant Edward the 6th, but she died in childbirth. Henry had three more wives after this point - one of which was executed for infidelity (Catherine Howard). The BBC series the six wives of Henry the 8th is an excellent dramatization of these events. This should give you a short summary - I appologize for any errors and omissions Good luck

Henry V111 did not boot any roman catholics out of britain, he himself always remained attached to roman catholicism, he was never a protestant.
6 years after the split with Rome he introduced the death penalty for anyone denying the mass/transubstantiation.
His dispute was with the pope, not with popery.

There is no link to the catholic faith, as a faith, just a bunch of dirty old men, in a crusty old establishment, same as C of E vicars being caught with child porn, and Judges, and Ploicemen, etc, etc. The Catholic church, is just a bunch of controlling old men, the faith, as such, is very ritualistic, but not evil. Wasnt some Muslim faith character's bride 12 or younger? Any where organised, secular comunities exist, pedo stuff is hushed up, and therefore, proliferated as its deemed a safe environment to commit it, attracting the pervs. Same as any religion, cult, or small scottish island...or cleaveland (social services).

Huh? What does banning the open practice of a religion have to do with child abuse? You DO realize that is a very modern concept.

Unless, of course, you are so lackwitted as to believe that every priest molests children. Not a reality- sorry.

It appears that you feel all Catholic religious are perverse and twisted. If so, I'm sorry you feel that way, because it is not true.

Henry left the Church because He wanted the Church's blessing on an adultrous marriage, which She could not give. He rebelled and left.
