PLanets affect our lives a great deal. They all have certain characteristics than when aligned with them are stronger. Like Venus makes us more emotional, Mercury affects communication, education: Mars gives us energy and makes us more intense: Jupiter is the benifactor brings goodwill: Saturn is very karmic almost like payback, do one to others as you would like done to you. Uranus is bringer of the new, change , utopian objectives. Neptune brings an almost unreal view of our reality, ruller of drugs, alcohol, and things that impact the view we have of or reality. Pluto the hidden planet hides behind mars, thats why if you are ruled by mars you also have PLuto as hidden trait. They all rules us primarily 7(each planet) 52 days out of the year mecrury, venus ,mars jupiter, saturn , uranus and neptune: pluto is coruller with mars. They also join up and have several influences at the same time depending on what day we were born.

I think people use the planets as an excuse to explain how miserable their life is. Instead of admitting that they are a fourty-year-old loser without a job or a spouse they go ahead and blame the stars and the planets...it feels better that way, at least then you don't feel guilty for wasting your life away! Also, astrology sometimes is the only thing that can give an individual hope for the future, instead of working hard at a goal a person might slack off just because their horoscope said they will succeed, thus they don't need to work any harder. Astrology, in my opinion, is purely a psychological matter....you believe in what you want to believe...you control your fate, not Pluto or some other planet that is millions of miles away! Don't you think planets have better things to do than to control mindless unimportant little humans, such as hover in the darkness of the universe and mind their own business?

There is an effect. But it is an influence ... not a controlling effect. The more self-aware a person is, and the more deliberately (by choice) they live their life ... the less the effect of the birth chart and the less the effect of the transiting aspects. In the end, it really IS up to you.

No.
Think of it - your personality and characteristics are tied to what part of the year you were born, and so are the millions of others born in the same time period of the year you were regardless of the year. In Astrology you will have the same characteristics because you and millions of others were born in February, etc.
But also - it defines your compatibility with other people, based on what time of the year they were born.
It is false faith - like fortune-telling.
Garbage that does not deserve a second thought.

Only if you let them. The power of suggestion is strong if you allow it. If some astrologer says your going to do something you probably will do it out of suggestion. These generic predictions are worded so they fit everyone.

more than you want to know. yes they do but contrary to modern astrological belief - i believe it's more based on the magnetism than anything else and that - in large part - is still not really understood fully

Yes they do. If you follow proper astrology and not the cack you read in papers. Go to www.astro.com for your personal chart and see if it fits you.
