Just go get the dead ends cut off every two months. Hair grows at approx. 1/2 in. a month and after 2 mos, that's 1 inch, and if you get 1/4 inch, then you're still gaining 3/4 inch.
Where I go charges $12 for a full shampoo, condition, cut, blow dry and style, but shampoo, condtition, trim, and blow dry is only $7... check with a hair-cut place to see if they have any specials like that.

Just go to the hairdressers and have a trim, that way you can ensure it is done correctly!
