I love my lab mix to death, but I feel that at the pet store, they have so much of the same type of toy, either ropes, balls or bones. He gets bored so easily. I heard that if I smear peanut butter on a washcloth (wet it and then freeze it) that he would LOVE IT! So I tried it and he DID! Does anyone else have any cool ideas like this? Much appreciated :)

Knotted up old socks, we also put hard balls in the socks and tie them up, empty two liter bottles (paper and caps removed). we stuff a ball into a cup (something plastic like mc donalds cup) and that entertains our dogs for a while until they get the ball out and start chewing up the cup. Old rubber hoses, the harder the better, make great toys for playing fetch just cut to the desired length, I even use these for training. Another thing I do is I get tennis balls and make holes in them (bottom and top) then force rope through it and knot the rope on both ends. I guess they sell these in the stores but you can make about six of these for the cost of one in a store. Another thing you can do is take old towels and roll them up and put duck tape all around the towel roll (put duck tape over a few times to make them stronger) and this can work as a tug toy.
Like any toy make sure you throw away once they start tearing it up and I never leave any toys (except maybe kongs) with the dog unless I am able to supervise.

dogs love beef bones, and they are super cheap. Just go to the grocery store and ask for beef bones (they only cost a couple dollars). Take them home, boil them, hollow them out, clean them, etc, and you will have a toy like a Kong, but much cheaper. You can fill them with peanut butter or any other stuffing your choose, and then freeze them overnight to make the stuffing last even longer.

there are rubber cone-like things at some pet stores that come with a bone or treat inside of them (or you put a treat in)
there is a little hole in one end and the dog chews on the toy and tries to get the treat out. i have one for my dog, but i dont know what its called. i got it at petsmart

I haven't tried that one before! that's actually such a good idea!

my dog adores it when I smear peanut butter on the inside of a plastic glass or something, and he has to lick it out. just make sure the glass is big enough that he can get his head out.

You need a Kong ball. they are oddly shaped, and you can put treats in them. Best of all undestructable. It's probably the strongest toy out there right now.

Tennis balls, just go to the courts and look around, rich people don't reuse balls.
