Mithraism was an extremely popular cult throughout the Roman empire, especially among Roman legionaries. It's beliefs were very similar to Christianity.

Historically, both were likely going on about the same time period, BUT, if you take into account the theory of the Fertile Cresent and how all cultures stemmed from that area, wouldn't it explain a great number of the similarities in the world's religious practices?

What does it matter what Jews believe? Jews are judged on what they DO, not what they BELIEVE. The goal of every Jew is peace on earth and justice for all humanity! We don't pray and wait for miracles. We pray for guidance and then take action.
