I challenge all of you faithful believers to read "Under The Banner Of Heaven"
It is an excellent book, well researched and factually correct.

That is incorrect. Mormons are told they should be educated and learn about all matters. They are encouraged to read "good", meaning helpful things, but that does not mean only approved things. They can read whatever they want. I have studied about hundreds of religions and have read many books contrary to the Mormon church, but it has only strengthened my beliefs.

We don't have to have the Churches approval for what we read. What the Church recommends is in the 13th article of faith, which reads in part, "If there is anything virtuous, lovely, or of good report or praiseworthy, we seek after these things.”

We are counselled to read the scriptures, as are all Christian religions. I am Mormon and I have never been told not to read anything approved by our Church. I am curious as to your source of information for your question.

I think you've been hearing rumors. Mormons are counseled not to read anything pornographic. Other than that, the Mormon church does not tell it's members what they can and can't read.

They can read anything they want. They are advised to read good wholesome material. I think all churches and religions advise their member to do the same thing. Read good wholesome things.

I never knew this to be the case.

If that is the case, can they surf the internet?

Because they may read something that proves their religion is a cult.
