Is agnostic a polite way of saying atheist?
And what is denominational? My friend said that it is believing something only cause it is written in the bible, but I have met one that didn't believe stuff that was clearly in there. Any help would be appreciated. Serious answers please, I am seriously asking. Not trying to ofend (if I did)

Agnostic means someone who believes God can neither be proven nor disproven, an agnostic as a general rule believes God could exist but believes the possibilities that God could be nothing like what religion describes him/her/it as.

Non denominational means that a christian refuses to claim that they are Baptist, Presbyterian, Pentecostal etc.

Denominational is any christian sect that claims labels like: Baptist, Catholic etc.

Agnostic means unknown and when related to religion it basically means that God is unknown or the story of how creation came to be is unknown. A denomination is a particular type of Christian with particular reasoning or beliefs regarding Christianity. Non-Denominational churches just believe what the Bible says, no more, no less.

The way I understand it an atheist says
"I don't see it so it doesn't exist".

An agnostic says
"I don't see it but it might exist anyhow. I'm not sure what it is so I don't go around preaching it."

Catholic, Lutheran, Methodist, Baptist....these are Christian denominations.

Non-denominational means a no name church which does not affiliate with a denomination usually because they don't want to pay the franchise fees.

An agnostic is someone who thinks there is not enough evidence for one to know whether God exists or not. So basically, they do not believe in God, but they do not deny that he could exist.

Denominational is a specific branch of religion...such as catholic or protestant.

Where-as a non-denominational church for example, is a place that people can go regardless of their specific beliefs about God. It's just a general church for people who believe in God. I think a lot of Homosexuals for example are non-denominational because the traditional churches view homosexuality as a sin.

Atheists state that there is no god.

Agnostics state that there's no way to prove whether or not there is a god, so they think it is unreasonable to say that you can know for sure either way.

"Denomination" refers to the type or "flavor" of Christianity (or any religion) that has beliefs which differ from other denominations in the same family of religions. Baptist, Episcopalian, Lutheran, Protestant, Catholic, Presbyterian, etc. would all be considered "Denominations" of Christianity. A non-denominational church is one that does not hold strictly to a set of denominational beliefs.

Non denominational is now a term for communities like Calvary Chapel. they are particularly user-friendly evangelicals. you will properly be Christian and purely no longer have a denomination. Agnostics are no longer Christian. They certainly have self assurance that the character or existence of God is unknowable.

An atheist is someone who doesn't believe in the existence of God, or a higher power. An agnostic is someone who believes there is a god but does not choose to adhere to any kind of "rules" or "worship" since we cannot fully know or understand all there is to know about such a god.

Denominational refers to the categorization of one's particular religious/spiritual affiliation. For example one could say that they are Jewish or Christian or Buddhist or Hindu. Within Christianity, there are several different denominations or traditions...including Catholicism, Episcopalian, Baptist, Presbyterian, and so on.

An agnostic person generally has no real opinion of as to if God does or does not exist.

Denominational just means you prescribe to a religion like a person whom is catholic. Non-denominational means you do not have a religion, a person of faith just not religious.

I am an Agnostic. I feel there is no empirical evidence to support a deity or deny a deity. I do not believe in the tenants of any organized religion. I live for my fellow human beings and treat them the way I wish to be treated... with respect and dignity.

An Agnostic is someone, who is not sure if there's a god or not, theres more to it, but that's all I know.

So a denomination is like, a baptist, Nazarene, you know different kinds of churches. (Some ppl like to label what kind of Christian they are)

Non-denominational church, believes in calling themselves Christians (instead of having a label), because they don't think Christianity/Christians should be divided.
