One word....cult

I know many Mormons who don't have "so many" kids...like 2 or 3. I know non-Mormons who have 10 kids. You are just stereo-typing.
One: We have been commanded to multiply and replenish the earth. That said, most couples prayerfully decide or at least try to decide when it is right to start a family and how many to have. It's not just "well you are a mormon so get poppin the kids out"...there is NO set number or anything like that.
Two: Recruiting I think you are talking about is missionary work. That is also a commandment and a prophecy that is being fulfilled now. The gospel must and will be spread to the whole earth before the Second Coming of Christ.

I think the amount of children they have has actually come down. The Catholics bar far have more children. The Mormon church actually teaches people they should practice good family planning and be certain they can care and provide for children before they have them. As to sending them off to recruit...they feel they have an important message and just want to share it. We should respect that, even if you don't agree or want to be a part of it.

I'm actually a non-practicing Mormon. I don't believe any of it. But there are two types of Mormon faiths. I think you're a little confused. So for correctness I'll help clear up this matter.

The Re-organized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints still practice polygamy and make babies like rabbits.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints DO NOT practice polygamy and normally have average sized families but do send those few children they have out into the world to preach what they are brain-washed to believe is the truth.

I am a Mormon. We have so many kids because children are beautiful and it is what we are designed to do. We send out missionaries because we believe in truths and we seek out others that want to learn more. My Grandparents needed missionaries and are grateful to them. If you don't want to be a Mormon then don't. If you don't want to have a lot of kids then don't. But I will. Hope that cleared some things up for you.
