There is a view that there are not two things. This is the path of Advaita, all is connected with an intimacy that is hard to grasp. Under such circumstances there is no separation between individuals or between individuals and God (whatever we understand by 'God'). So, God is number one in my life, so am I, so is my wife, the sunrise, the smell of woodsmoke on a frosty morning and the line of poetry written by a friend.

Which God? No, I think the most important thing in my life is me. By focusing on improving myself I can help the lives of so many more people than I could by worshiping a God.

God is number ONE in my life.. even before my Two kids. I have a Two year old ((about to be 3 in JAN)) and a ONE year old but I still put God first because without HIM first I couldnt be able to raise my kids right.
Not only that but being a single mother, God provides for me and my children and I count everything a blessing.
Is HE first in YOUR life?

I try to keep God as number one but other things keep seeking in. I soon replace them with God again though. It's a constant battle.

What is number one in my life is ME!
Before I can do anything for anyone else I must first make sure that I am secure!
Why put a pink monkey about yourself?

No deities are not number one in my life. Perhaps, someday I will re-evaluate that decision if by some chance they are proved or disproved empirically but for now I concentrate on the living human beings around me on planet earth.

My son is here and now. He is the most important person in my life. God does not expect me to "worship" him.

I put my family, friends, work, hobbies, pretty much everything well above ancient dieties. I don't believe that any god could be so self centered as to need me to pray to him every day.
People love god for themselves... not for God.
