first time location...?

Question

i might be having sex for the first time on new years eve when i crash at my friends house. If my girlfriend and i sleep separate from everyone else, would it be weird or awkward to have sex then and there?
Also, people say girl on top is best for the first time because the girl can control the speed and everything. Others say missionary because it is less painful on the girl. What is the best position?
