A Muslim man is allowed to marry a Christian woman, but a Christian man is not permitted to marry a Muslim woman. Beyond any doubt, Islam is patriarchal, so a Muslim man must have final control in the relationship. Islam does not give the same rights to women as it does to men. In fact, the Quran clearly says that women are inferior to men. Islam considers the husband head-of-the-family and therefore requires that a Muslima cannot marry a non-Muslim because she will be under the authority of a non-muslim husband. There are NO conditions mentioned under which a Muslim woman IS allowed to get married or remain married to a non-Muslim husband after she has accepted Islam. Therefore, even if she has freedom to practise Islam after marriage, she is NOT allowed to enter into an inter-faith marriage.

When love is real and both people have an open mind and also a respectful personality, than it can work out! But the big problem is getting kids, as most Muslim families feel ashamed if a new relative ain't a Muslim too...

If the Christian truly follows Christ, they would have a difficult time because they are to be equally yoked with others.

2 Corinthians 6:14 Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness?

Their beliefs are so far apart. One believes that Jesus was God's own son (as stated in the Holy Bible), the other believes that God has no son and that Jesus was a prophet (if they follow the Quran).

It would be a difficult union. But anything is truly possible. They would really need to discuss things first, and respect the other's Faith.

From what i have noticed with people in a mixed marriage is what may cause a little grief is when it comes down to the religious traditions, example do you baptize the baby? Do you celebrate Christmas / Ramadan? I guess you can do both if each side is willing - i think it depends on how religious you are, or if one party lets go of their religious ways.

Have you ever seen the movie "Not Without My Daughter"' with Sally Field? If you have, there's your answer.

If you haven't, I would strongly suggest that you see this movie, becuase you will find the answer there.

I'm willing to accept muslims in our society, just like any other religion, but there is no way in hell I would follow them to their country, no disrespect intended for any muslim person who is reading this.

That would be very hard, especially since both believe that the other is going to hell. I think that it would be hard on the children as well. (I was trying to find a better way to word that...but nothing was coming to mind)
