One thing: don't have food in your house that doesn't go with your diet and that way you avoid the temptation to eat it. That's always my downfall. If it's not there, I won't eat it! ;)

I apologize because this doesn't answer your question, but it's something I've had to learn the hard way!

Also, drink lots of water. Alot of times when you think you're hungry, it's actually thirst. Water doesn't have to be just water--there's lots of good drinks on the market that count as water. Aquafina has Flavor Splash, waters with zero calories or carbs that come in several flavors and taste great. I just mentioned that one because I detest plain water, but love this stuff. I think anything without caffeine or sugar in it can be considered water.

Good luck! You can do it!

P.S. I love the low carb diet, it really does work. I've been doing it for almost 3 years now, too, and have lost 23 lbs, and it's stayed off.

Also, exercise is a good thing!

Many diets use regular food, just in varying amounts:

1) Kimkins (fastest loss)
2) South Beach or Atkins
3) Weight Watchers

Whichever plan you pick, it's important to have a plan and to understand the rules of the diet.

Here are Bills 10 keys "to getting the bad stuff off quickly."

1. Don't starve yourself. Not eating can result in fat storage and muscle loss.

2. Eliminate simple sugars, including juice, soda and candies.

3. Eliminate any excess dairy products. Dairy is good calcium but can add lots of calories.

4. Eat four to six smaller meals a day, about three hours apart, to reduce fat storage.

5. Lift weights to increase lean muscle mass, which helps burn fat while at rest, and do low-intensity, longer-duration cardiovascular training, also to burn fat.

6. Eat moderate amounts of healthy fats such as fish oils, flaxseed oil and olive oil. Reduce saturated and trans fats.

7. Look out for "low fat" and "low carb" products. Food makers may replace fat with sugar and carbohydrates with fat.

8. Curb the condiments. Mustard and salsas are good choices.

9. Drink plenty of water. Halve your body weight in pounds and shoot for at least that many ounces of water a day.

10. Balance lean protein, carbohydrates (avoid "enriched" products) and healthy fats at each meal.

Yes, it's called willpower. If you don't have willpower to avoid foods such as carbs, candies, chocolates, etc, then that will ruin your diet.

I have been on a low carb diet for 3 years now. I was 145 lbs and now I'm 120 lbs and I am maintaining it by having willpower and make sure everyone else supports you with your weight loss.

Good luck!

find an exercise program, even if it is just dancing. eat fruits and vegetables and stay away from starches like ffpotatoes, cake ,bread, cookies and sugar like icecream and real soda. soda is the biggest weight gainer there is. switch to diet now and u will be better off for it. actually water would even b better.
good luck and happy holidays

My Best advice for you is see a nutritionist. They can assess your dietary needs precisely for you and give you some good ideas as to what amount of food you should be eating, and what foods will be best to keep you feeling full etc all day long.
