No one can answer that. Unless you only love thyself. You have to start slow get to know the person. Watch their actions around people, don't stalk them though, listen to their comments find out what makes them tick, happy and sad, sit and watch a movie that one likes and talk about it after wards then watch one the other likes and talk about. If you can really relate to how each other feel about things that is a plus. Every relationship needs people to work together naturally to stay together. Beginning with honesty on both sides and taking it slow will create a pocket of time where you can both see each other function in the real world. Now is the time to learn and decide if this person is what you want only you can honestly answer that, only you know your values.
PS: From the question I "assume" you have been hurt. You can't hold on to that fear, if you can't believe that someone is right for you may hurt them. Instead turn the fear to experience and see if the new person will surprise you.
pss:Know the difference between Love and Lust they can feel the same and hurt the same but usually only one person gets hurt.

There is no way to fall in love without taking a chance. To completely be in love, you need to be able to trust the other person with your emotions, and trust them not to hurt you. Of course, it might still happen, but thats a chance you have to take.
I know Im in love because if we broke up tomorrow, I wouldnt change a single way I acted.

Its not possible. If you truly love someone there is no way of getting around being hurt. It doesn't matter the pain, it could be that the person you love doesn't call, forgets plans, or even cheat. You could even want the person so badly that it will hurt you. Love is just. If you love something ( really love something) and if you want it in your life then, yes, you will get hurt but only to love again.

Well in a relationship you are always going to get hurt because people are imperfect and no one knows absolutely everything about each other so we do things that make the other person mad. If you love that person thought then you overcome those things and live as happily as possible and if you mean getting hurt like they cheat on you or abuse you or something like that then find a man that is really good, at least to you, then really get to know him.

U can't. When u love, your taking a chance. There are no restrictions when it comes to love, it's a risk that your taking and if you really feel like the person is the one then go for it, people take risk all the time. If you gamble (that's a risk), when you drive and leave your house everyday (that's a risk). Living life is a risk in itself, so just live, and if your feeling love for this other person, it kinda sounds like it's 2 late, so just go for it, and Good Luck!

If that was possible i doubt anyone will ever be sad. There is no simple answer for this, just remember this relationships go both ways good relationships = good communication, trust, loyalty, friendship, and abviously love. Bad relationships is the complete opposites you will have your ups and downs, and if your really inlove your love will be able to get you through anything that keeps you and your partner happy therefore your less likely to get hurt. Good Luck xxx

Unfortunately, the down side of love is that when you love someone, you give them the potential to destroy your life if he/she leaves you for another. (that statement was modified from another Y!A user who was having a hard time getting over her true love leaving her). You have to be prepared and choose a person who cares about you deeply and does not have the slightest intention to hurt you physically and emotionally. It's a risk that everybody in the world takes.

You always run a chance of getting hurt when you fall in love, but if never take that chance then we'll never find our true love.

You can't. But look at it this way its better to fall in love and get hurt than never be in love. If you trust your partner dont worry you wont get hurt.
