Who's in the direct line of King David today?

What's their website? Where are they? What religion are they?

No one knows. In around 600 B.C. the Babylonians carried away 10 of the 12 tribes of Israel back to its Homeland. Around 50-75 years later, the tribes came straggling back home, at least those who wanted too. They lost a couple of tribes at this time and these are now called "The Lost Tribes of Israel." The event is also called "The Diaspora." Even now, a newly found tribe was found in India, detected only through genetic DNA testing. They performed the same ceremonies as the Jews but never knew why. Now they have been invited to move and live in Israel, but no one knows the original name of the tribe.

Out of the 2 tribes left identified at Christs time, one was Judah or the Tribe of David. BOTH Mary and Joseph were direct descendants through MALE Lines. And, since Mary was an ONLY CHILD, she had all of the inheritance rights. This is important, because it means that IF she had ever claimed the Throne of David, after her death, it would have passed to her oldest son. And with Joseph it was the same way. Both he and Mary were equally able to claim the Throne of David, and its because of this, that shows the true descent of Christ from David, even through his step-father.

In around 70 A.D., after the birth of Christ and his death, the records were no longer important. After all, everyone was able to prove that Christ had been a descendant of David's and Abraham's, so it was time to send the Jewish Nation a message. God did this by taking the already damaged Temple and having it torn down. As Christ himself said before that, "there would not be a stone upon a stone left standing." So the event was prophesied. Once the genealogy records for over 1,300 years was destroyed, no one could prove their heritage ever again. This means that in just a short time, every trace of tribal origins were lost forever. One could think they were of a tribe, but from now on, no one would ever be sure!

Well, since King David was a jew, there is a good chance that many of his direct descendents are jews too. That being said, I doubt anyone out there can provide a geneology going all the way back to Kind David.

I have to agree with answer # 1 , there's no one who can prove they descended from David. The last geneology that's not under dispute is that of Jesus the Nazarene and it's shown at the beginnings of Matthew and a different line at Luke in the Bible.

Jesus was the last of the direct line of King David. Until Jesus comes back to claim us as his own, there will be no one on the throne. Actually, Jesus is on his Heavenly throne waiting for his father to tell him when the time is right to bring us home. Until then, we are to be on the alert.
