I am looking for old Merchant Marine records. Can anyone tell me where to look? I am looking for my great-grandfather's MM records if they are available. He passed in 1917 at the ripe old age of 31. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks a million!

The main records relating to the Merchant Marine during World War II are located at the at the Modern Military Records, National Archives and Records Administration, 8601 Adelphi Road, College Park, MD 20740-6001, phone (301) 837-3510 .
