Our absolute favorite cocoa mix is not even home made. We found it by accident this year at Sams Club. It's Stephen's Candycane Cocoa. We've never tasted anything like it. It's a rich chocolate with tiny bits of candycane that melt when the hot water is added.
What you could do is buy pretty holiday mugs and then package them with the attractive colorful cocoa packets. They are shiny and pretty holiday colors with a cocoa bear on the front. It truly is far better than anything we've ever tasted. They were sampling and everyone was grabbing a box.

There's lots of good recipes, but you have to make sure you have all the right dry ingredients in the jar. Get the canning jar and layer the following:
1/2 of the jar should be filled with chocolate powder of some sort. I use different layers of nestle quik, godiva chocolate powder, white chocolate powder -- that way, you can see the different stripes, and it looks neat.
TINY layer of cinnamon -- this makes hot chocolate taste great.
TINY layer of instant coffee -- this really brings out a bittersweet element of the chocolate.
Layer of powdered coffemate creamer. This is what I find makes the drink memorable. Use vanilla for a really rich traditional taste -- use other flavors for a more exciting taste (I love cinnamon).
Be sure to top it off with marshmellows and maybe some chocolate shavings.
Then, cap the jar.
Also, put a note around the jar saying what's in there. Make sure to tell the people to shake up the contents of the jar before use. That way, they will get all of the flavors mixed together.
HAVE FUN! Happy holidays! :)

Here is my favorite hot chocolate mix:
10 2/3 c dry milk
1 6-8 oz jar creamer
2 cups powder sugar
16 oz nestles quick drink mix
Combine all ingred in a bowl. Makes about 17 cups. Add 3 Tbs of mix to 1 cup of boiling water. Stir with a peppermint stick or a chocolate covered spoon! Happy Holidays.
( I usually pack these up in a half pint canning jar or other small decorative jar that is air tight, pretty etc. Tie with ribbon or raffia with a peppermint stick or spoon, or put in a pretty mug. If you wanted to include mini marshmallows, or just use your imagination and go crazy!)

I have a recipe I've used for years. It's easy, makes a big batch, and I get compliments all the time. As we speak, I have a batch on my table and am packing it up to give as gifts. Here it is:
10 cups of powdered milk
1 1-lb container of Nestle's Quik
1 box confectioner's sugar (1 lb)
8 ounce jar of coffee creamer (use your favorite)
Mix well, and that's it!
Add 1/4 cup for each mug. Add marshmallows if you like, or you can add it to a cup of coffee, too!!! Enjoy. I'm positive a jar of this as a gift will be well received.

sounds like an interesting idea...one year our church made cookies in a jar and gave it out. Basically it was all the dry goods measured out and the recipe was tied with it!

A selfmade modern ,like a fleece blanket with initials, is amazingly particular. It exhibits how a lot you care about someone who you may spend hours of your own time to make for her or him any such own Christmas present. Kudos to whoever made this surprising attempt!
