he said he wanted to help me last night and he was putting his finger in my B*** and i kept telling him it hurt and he was like its just a mental thing and he was like focus on kissing me. and kissing him did make all the pain go away. but it hurt

ugh.. so wish i had a good answer for you. i have found that most men are freakishly obsessed now with this. i'm sure it feels great to them, and some woman do like it.
if you don't want to.. that's it plain and simple.. end of story. if he doesn't listen SCREW HIM.
if you are open to the idea, but just not the pain than it's going to take work..and lots of lube. he'll have to start with fingers and move slowly up to his stuff. but he's got to be slow and gentle and be sure it's lubed a lot.. it can be uncomfortable at first, but with some work it can be loosened up and you might enjoy.
