Dreams are part of your unconscious mind working. Morphine is a drug that alters perception. When you have the two things together you have weird and vivid dreams.

Morphine is a mind altering drug and is very strong. I hurt my back and was on a morphine drip and I was having crazy vivid dreams.
Plus when you are hospitalized all you have is time on your hands and the world on your mind so that is a factor too.
No worries

people have weird dreams while on opiates because it interrupts the normal sleep cycle and the mind accomodates this change by having sleeping hallucinations.
