why do guys leed a girl on for so long, and then they just ....lay it on em'... " if you were one year older, id go for ya" ahh it sucks!! what do i do with that?

us guys like attention. If a girl were to walk up to me and flirt, honestly id do it back. DOGS WE ARE. Im guessing this happened to you? Sorry about it. Its hard to find the person that you are good with. Matching and such. I say just wait. usually the right guy runs right into you. Literally. Or make many guy friends. Sometimes that works.
as for why we do this. We use that line to be nice. Instead of saying " h e double hockey sticks no" or sorry but i have someone better. it's a cruel world. But us guys tend to have a harder time with relationships. "picking apples is like finding a girlfriend. If you keep reaching for the highest apples you will either fall off your ladder or never get one. But in reality the best ones are right infront of you. The ones that are perfect you can look straight at rather than always looking up to."

Well, it all depends on just how old you are. If you're under 18 years old, then that's probably exactly why they tell you that.
If you're a young adult, then it may be just a cop out. However, age does matter more when you're a young adult. People like to date others who've had similar life experiences, and if you are a particularly young woman or man, then you haven't had a chance to develope a history of life experiences that perhaps someone of 25 or 30 years of age has (or even older). The older you get, the less a 5 to 10 year difference in age matters.

You obviously date guys older than you. Age shouldnt matter if you are both either under 18 or over, depending on your situation. Dont rush into anything ...
