I am looking to become a nurse, but I would like to know if you have to be in the Navy to work there.

Not everyone who works in a military hospital is a service member. Civilians, now more than ever, are being hired at military hospitals to fill in their vacancies due to deployment.

No, many of military employees are civilians.
