Sister? It's none of her !@#$% business, my dear. Parent would be different. No one's under any obligation to share such information with a sibling of a significant other. Tell her tactfully that she's crossing a personal boundary by asking you such a question.

What are her intentions in asking the question? If they're really close, you'll want to be honest with her. Have you thought about your "intentions"?

On the other hand, if she's angling to cause a problem, I'd go with "I'm making her happy," and leave it at that. No point in elaborating or making her feel like a dope for asking. Keep it simple, and go make her sister happy.

If it's an older sister then she is just concerned for her sister. A guy with bad intetnions would lie like a dog; if you have good intentions though you should be fine. Don't say somthing stupid though. If your not in love, don't say it. etc and so on

That is a ridiculous thing for that sister to ask considering it is almost 2007. Are you dating one of the Bronte sisters?

Simply tell her as nicely as you can that you can appreciate her interest in her sisters well being but that you can not foretell the future of what will become of your relationship, however you do not intend to disrespect Mary in any way.

Unless of course you do intend to disrespect her, then I would not tell her anything.

The truth, of course. Don't start off that relationship on the wrong foot or you will be in hot water the entire relationship.

The truth!
And then say thank you for your concern, but what happens is our business and does her sister know you are asking me this?
Sounds controlling unless you have given a reason for her to ask...maybe ask her why she would ask this?

She obviously cares a lot about her sister. Perhaps you should reflect on what your intentions really are and give her an honest answer.

what are your intentions?? just tell her what you really feel. the worst thing you can do is lie. especially if you intend on being with her for a while. your intentions should be to love her, respect her and treat her like a lady. also to do your best to make her happy.
