I normally go to bed at 2 - 3 in the morning. and use to take 5 hour long naps after school. Well the past 2 days I haven't slept, haven't taken naps or anything. My eyes are looking darker, like I'm wearing eyeliner. I couldn't get to sleep the past 2 nights, I got about 2 hours of sleep saturday nigh thats all. Tried taking a nap after school today couldn't fall asleep. The nights I spent maybe an hour or 2 trying to get to sleep and i just end up watching tv the rest of the night.

I've felt like passing out all day, feel dizzy, still can't fall asleep. Stayed after school with my friend today like 2 extra hours, REALLY tired from that, couldn't seem to fall asleep.

What's wrong?

Hey buddy i have been there. Most likely you have something going on with you. Something on your mind or stress. Stress can play havoc on your sleep. Some people like myself have always gone too bed late but when i am stressed out emotinally i can be up like 3 nights straight. A sleep disorder is something that you always have and does not stsrt outta of the blue. I bet you have alot going on. I know this because i have sleep probs and anxiety probs. If you want check your parents medicine cab or ask look for xanax/alprazolam valium/diazepam or something like that. Its most likely anxiety. If you can try smoking a tiny bit of weed that will work. Infact i smoke weed just for my anxiety and sleep probs..But if it keeps going on go to a doctor. If you don't like drugs of any sort try warm milk or tea. Even benadryl can help. good luck.

First off, going to bed at 2 or 3 then going to school then taking 5 hour naps is not good for anyone..... But I am assuming you are a teenager? And that is somewhat common, if that is in fact the case.

Insomnia is where you don't sleep well for a day or two intermittently. If it continues, first I would talk to my parents about an over the counter sleep aid to try, if that does not work I would consult a physician to rule out other issues.

Sleep is ESSENTIAL to human function, and if you can NOT fall asleep, you need to see your doctor! It could just be a case of insomnia, but that doesn't change the fact that you NEED sleep!! Try OTC sleeping pills like Unisom for just a couple of days (to prevent the possibility of becoming addicted) so you can "train" your body into going back to sleep. Also try waking up at the same time each morning, that will also tell your body after awhile during the night that you need to go to sleep at X time in order to feel fully rested.

You need to go to bed a little earlier during the week so you're not so tired after school. Do something relaxing before you try to go to sleep, take a hot bath and dim the lights. Not sure if you like tea but there is this tea called Sleepytime and it really helped to relax me before bed. It tastes minty. Or there's always sleeping pills be careful with those though I don't think you're suppose to take them for long periods of time unless they're a prescription. If none of that works or if you finally get to sleep but still wake up tired, go to your doctor.

Insomnia (sleeplessness) is due to stress, dietary and medical
problems. By making small lifestyle changes like having a fixed
daily routine, relaxing and eating properly, insomnia can be
cured. I found the information at http://tinyurl.com/jfzpz useful
for getting sleep.

I would just about bet that you are between the ages of 12 and 17,where for some reason or another we all become noctural,it will pass, but it takes discipline.

MOST PEOPLE DON'T TAKE 5 HOUR NAPS AFTER SCHOOL. THEN YOUR NOT SLEEPY FOR BED. THINK YOU'LL ADJUST, JUST GIVE YOURSELF SOME TIME AND DON'T DRINK OR EAT ANYTHING BEFORE BED. NO CAFFEINE.
