Is there a medical basis to encourage people to sing more? Or, is the euphoria I experience from singing just me?

Assuming that you sing well, your singing ability is a talent you posses and enjoy doing. If singing is something that your truly good at than that's something you have that many others don't. Not everyone has a singing talent. However, it's been said that having a musical ability doesn't necessarily make you a better person or better than the person sitting next to you. We all have a passion. Passion is what gets us going and inspired. Your passion can be singing, drawing, cooking, reading, volunteering, etc. Whatever that passion is that's your euphoria. Yours obviously is singing.

Well.... i believe everyone agrees, that most of physical issues start in the head (i'm not talking about viruses and diseases).
Where i come from we say "if you sing a lot, you are a happy person", hence happy and balanced "upstairs" will definetely make you feel better and resolve some physical problems.

However, I don't believe, it's medically proven or can be proven, that it could help.

Doing anything that you love , enjoy and do well can improve your health and attitude.! Singing is a beutiful thing, and so is painting, running, or even skateboarding. If you enjoy doing something, you get a sense of worth from it and it encourages a good attitude.

I dont know about the medical proof, but i know i always feel better when i am singing, it also works your jaw and vocal cords, so you are less likely to get strained vocal chords, provided the warm ups are done correctly....

I don’t know of any scientific studies that confirm this. However, being happy is known to be very good for your health so keep on singing!

well, if you enjoy doing something enough, it might as well be medically proven. i love to sing, personally, it makes me happy. i doubt endorphins are released when you sing, but it is possible. whatever makes you feel good should be your own medical remedy. =]
