No, it's not dangerous even though it is 70 proof. I was a baker for 8 years, and I know that all extracts, not emulsions, contain alcohol. One of my fellow bakers, from 1978 until 1986 told me that a lot of alcoholics in the military wanted to work in the kitchen or "mess hall" so they could get access to the vanilla extract.

Hi, the vanilla extract, probably would get you a little drunk if you could glug down enough of it, dangerous, that's a little strong a term, but please don't drive if you consume excessive wine glassed, but I would recomend a good cabernet or merlot if you feel the urge to drink Vanilla Extract, read the warning on the bottle, and experament with dangerous caution??!! lighten up.

Yes on both accounts - there is enough alcohol in vanilla and other flavorings to get you drunk if you drink enough - but the amount of extract you consume would make you really sick.
