i have a german shepherd and on ebay they have some great signs for example:- MY HOME,MY GARDEN,MY FAMILY enter at own risk etc got some great ones, i have the signs BREAK IN MAKE MY DAY it has a german shepherd on the sign it makes people think,and i have the sign with the german shepherd saying I LIVE HERE,
The signs really do work,and make people think.

Check out ebay they have lots of great signs. I have one that has a picture of a shepherd and says I can make to the fence in 3.2 seconds can you. I got it on ebay for $8 along with a few more.

Be personal and creative: take a pic of your beloved pooch, make the sign yourself and voila! A perfect sign! And how happy your puppy will be that his/her pic is on the sign and not some other random dog.
