Look to make long term changes. They are easier to implement, and it's safer to lose weight over time. Eat whole grain bread, pretzels and tortillas (or spinach tortillas), lots of salsa, olive oil and pasta with fresh grated parmesan. Broccoli is good when it is sauteed in olive oil with fresh garlic and dried cranberries. I eat a lot of tilapia and sometimes salmon with rice or mashed sweet potatoes. Most importantly, you can still have the things you really enjoy, just sparingly. A bagel serving is actually half. A McDonald's cheeseburger once in a while is ok, but just one, and eat a fruit salad or a fruit and yogurt parfait. tons of water is good. Salads are always great! Don't worry about the dressing- just use what you like as sparingly as possible. Fiber makes you fuller longer, so eat lots of it (black beans, pinto beans, lentils, whole grains, fruits and vegetables)
Good luck, and remember, "variety" and "long term".

If you want to lose weight, you need to take in less calories than you use, maybe work on consuming 500 calories less than you consume but this may depends on your body weight and physical activity. Stay away from processed, high fat, high sugar foods to ensure that you don't waste calories. Eat vegetables, fruits, decrease your portions of meat and dairy, and check your portion sizes. If you drink a lot of juice, decrease the amount of juice you drink because juice is high in sugar like soda.

I've lost 5 kilos in my first week. It's my 10th day and I have included salad with some protein (eg. egg/ lean chicken) as you suggested. After 4 years of trying, the fat is finally coming off. It truly feels like magic!
Get started today!
