The areas with the most sheep are in the south and east of Scotland; the west and north are more mountainous and there is less arable farmland there (you're more likely to see deer in these parts).
Take plenty of warm clothing, anti-histamines for insect bites, and never go out without waterproofs.

The ones with the big curly horns are best avoided. Oh and if you are going to Scotland, my advice is "take a mac".

Typical tourist -- but remember that out in sheep country a stag may have amorous intentions towards YOU :-)
