I would like to become a nurse, and I would like to work in the Naval Medical Center down in San Diego, Ca. Do you even have to join the Navy to work there?

I am a soldier, not a sailor, so I can't really tell you about boot camp. What I CAN tell you is that they won't require you to do anything you are not capable of. If you can take a little yelling and some minor mind games, as well as less sleep than you would like, for about 8 weeks, you're in the clear.

As far as getting in, you are required to have a high school diploma, be 18 years of age or older (or 17 with a parental waiver) take the ASVAB (armed services vocational aptitude battery) test, and undergo a comprehensive physical exam at the Military Entrance Processing Station (MEPS).
