Depends on which shelter, but most likely not... You can always donate presents straight to the shelter, but homeless family's probably wouldn't want their last name given out to everyone in the town and most homeless shelters respect that and keep their names confidential. The best and hassle-free way to go is just get some presents that anyone would enjoy and go to the shelter and ask them to distribute the presents evenly. If your concerned about how many presents you should get, I'm sure the shelter would be able to tell you how many people are in their care... thats not confidential. Merry Christmas

Probably not, however, you could look into something called "Adopt a Family" which is what we do at work. We are basically putting on Christmas for a single mother of 4. We have the names/ages/sizes of the kids and mom and each of us have picked out what we want to buy them. We've done this through a local church and the presents will be delivered by a padre (minister).

Great Idea!! Blessings to you for thinking of others!

The groups my company has worked with this season have taken cash donations and then bought gift cards for the families in need... you may want to talk to them about donating to the shelter. I don't think they'd give out individual names, because of privacy concerns.

No. I'm sure that is confidential information. I'm sure they would let you buy gifts and drop them off at the shelter for the shelter to distribute.

i would think you could just leave the gifts at the shelter, I'm not sure they would give out any ones name.
That's a very nice gesture though
Merry Christmas!!

Yes, they will give you the statistics only. Meaning, the number of boys, girls, men, women etc. They will not give a list of names though.
