Well to start off...I "had" severe cystic acne acne about two years ago...went on accuatne, now everything was wonderful....completly clear face, would be able to tell I even had it. Then I went on differin cream after accutane...and have been on that ever since, now I cant get that anymore....so Ive been out of acne medicine for almost a week, and Ive noticed my acne is def. worsening as the days go on. I need to know what over-the-counter acne med works the BEST. It will only be temporary, and I need something that I can go pick up at Walmart for less than $15.

I have had problems with acne too i have tried pro active and just about everything else what i have been doing is very inexpensive first wash your face with antibacterial soap(yes, dish soap) then clean your face with astrigent and a cotton pad it's like a buck fifty at walmart this will help alot, your face will feel so clean, this will dry your face alot so you will have to put a very light non greasy lotion on afterwards I use baby lotion or cocoa butter lotion since i started using this method i have had no problems hope this helps.

You need to look at ingredients. If I'm not mistaken, Dufferin cream has benzoyl peroxide in it. If that's the case, Proactive would be great. Some people do better with benzoyl peroxide and others with salyic (spell?)acid and there are also products with combinations. My skin has responded well to a combination of BP and sulfur. My friend's daughter has done well with the newest Clearasil product. You just have to figure out what works best on your skin.

well, try washing ur face with a salicliyc acid (it will unclog pores just like differine did) leave it on for u face for about 3 minutes and wash wash wash...it will remove dead skin cellls so fresh skin will emerge, etc..... then i suggest 2.5 benzoyl peroxide for zits

You should definitely try ProActive, its a whole system, not just a cream. It works great! It does dry up your skin a little, but definitely does a great job.
