Terrible pain after crown on last tooth on bottom left side. is this normal? been almost a year.?

I am a dental assistant and i have to tell you that that is not normal your tooth is either cracked under the crown or you need a root canal you need to call your dentist and tell them what's going on so they can get you back in if they tell you there's nothing wrong go to another dentist.
