The UK is set to lose around 3,500 pubs to the smoking ban – according to a new report on the future of the trade.
The latest UK Public Houses Market Development Report predicts pub numbers will decline from 60,331 to 56 966 by 2011 – a drop of 6%.

Not sure about Britain as a whole but London has approximately 6,000. Doesn't sound like a lot really.
