One thing that I am battling is cancer. I have Hodgkin Lymphoma. I have had help from a friend that was in Vietnam that does know that Agent Orange causes Hodgkin. I never been to Vietnam, but to the Gulf. I know that I have hit a brick wall tring to find out what chemicals was used. I think that the governemt would label it, "Top Secret" so that Vets can file claims. I found that out when I was with the ship I was on, being upgraded in a ship yard, paint over spary damage the paint on alot of other shipmates vehicles. All Over Spray claims disapproved.

I believe that they never firmly established that there were chemicals used in that war. However, many returning soldiers were suffering from a strange variety of symptoms. There were so many cases that it became known as "Gulf War Syndrome," and it was speculated that they were exposed to chemicals while there that they were unaware of. It was also speculated that the problems could have been caused by the insect repellant that our troops were issued there.

During the Iran-Iraq War (1980-88), the Iraqis used mustard agent most frequently, but there are several reports of the use of Sarin.

During the first Gulf War, there were no confirmed battlefield uses of any chemical agents -- we had so completely interdicted the Iraqi transport system that they couldn't get the rounds to the tubes to fire them at us. There is some thinking that, after the battle was over, some chemical munitions may have been in the bunkers destroyed at Khamisaya -- so there is a faint, unconfirmed possibility that there was some extremely diluted sarin in the downwind smoke plume.

During the battlefield phase of the current conflict, no chemicals were used.

I recall that there was one report where a blister agent was used, and several troops were injured, but recovered. I am not sure if they were EOD guys disposing of iraqi unconventional munitions, or if they were actually used against the troops. I recall a few pictures of the hands of these guys, really looked like something I am glad I didn't come in to contact with.

Ugh, will look it up now. But I recall some sort of HUGE munitions stockpile that was just detonated to be rid of it. Then supposedly some Chem. Dets in the area got readings.

I've also heard of issues with the use of DU (Depleted Uranium) that we use in our munitions.

Don't know either way, but at least a start.
