I am career military (21 years and counting). I have a better understanding of the world we live in, how to appreciate the things I have in life (Family, health, God), and that freedom isn't free. It takes sacrafice. I am a three time combat veteran and deployed three other times as well. I have trained foreign armies how to protect their country and provided humanitarian assistance. And on occassion they let me jump out of airplanes - since I am a bit of an adreline junkie... Great Question!

usually they are better off, they develop discipline and pride sometimes they get arrogant and think there the world though its what they make of it. everyone of my close friends in the military would never let me join the military, that's any branch, they told me they would break my arms if i ever did. Something to think about

Yes My Brother-In- Law is in the army he hasn't really changed that much that I can see,but I don't live with him. I bet that it is hard to see all of them people over there dying right in front of his eyes though especially the young children. My brother-in-law has two young children.

I've got 6 friends currently serving overseas. None have changed much, but they do get angry when they see idiots like Cindy Sheehan poop on them.
