In your question that you posted you stated that Maskaev and Wlad Klitschko had serious skills and that the Soviet Union has produced the greatest boxers to grace the earth.
Let's see what other people think: a series of dream fights:
Muhammad Ali vs. Oleg Maskaev who wins?
15 rounds in their prime.
Muhammad Ali vs. Wlad Klitschko who wins?
15 rounds in their prime.
Match george Foreman, Norton, Frazier, Louis against these two Soviets under the same premise, 15 rounds in their prime.
san n - you said they were the best fighters to grace the earth let's see what the boxing forum thinks. I'd like to see if we've got another a p ribafish in the making. FYI - san n's resolved question in the boxing forum if anyone needs a point of reference.

SAN N - In hindsight I think Brad's right why did I placate you. It is evident you're not dealing with reality. None and I mean none of your Soviet heavies could carry any of these all time great heavyweight's spit buckets.

allknowing - you are not all knowing when it comes to boxing! To think that either Klitschko brother outboxes Ali in his prime is delusional!

Brent ~
Any one of the fighters in the top 10 in the late 60's to mid 70's destroy the current Eastern European Crop of fighters. These fights wouldn't go pass the 5th round, Ali would stop Maskaev in three rounds, Ali would stop Klitschko in 5 rounds.
Foreman would stop Maskaev in two rounds and Klitschko in 1 round
Norton stops them both in the 2nd.
Frazier stops Maskaev in three rounds and Klitschko in the fifth.
Louis retires them both.

San are u from the U.S. Why do you root for the soviet. San likes white boxers. If you notice any question he answers when asked between a white or black boxer who would win he always takes the white boxer. He hasn't had anyone from the past he likes so he is latching on the soviet who are overrated by only san. No matter who fights a soviet I like seeing the soviet on their rears which is what happened to one of them a year or so ago which is why you hear so little about them. I agree with the forum any 60's or 70's boxer would beat the present soviet.

Every single American fighter you have named would beat both of the Soviet fighters and quite easily too. I haven't got time to work through each fight but the two Soviet fighters are quite simply not in the same league as the American fighters mentioned they might be able to match a couple of the boxers strength wise but for boxing skills not even close and this is the reason everyone has no time for the Heavyweight division because they have very little or no boxing skills they are just like big carthorses stumbling around the ring, which is really not that exciting to watch.
And to say they had the greatest boxers to grace the planet is very hard to understand because i cant name one.

Hey Brent! You know what my answer is to this already. Ali, Foreman, Norton, Frazier, Louis all would have beat these guys. I could name quite a few others as well that I believe would have taken these guys to school in the ring. I believe that for the most part that none of these fights would have even made it to the 15th round.

The soviets would lose each time, however, if this was an amateur boxing contest, I would go the other way.
